Terms for service providers (handymen)
Last updated April 2026. These terms explain how our introduction service works for providers. They are not legal advice.
What HMC does
HMC publishes job-style requests from people who want help with tasks in our categories. You may review those requests and place a bid or express interest if you choose. We are an introduction and matching layer—we help customers and providers find each other more quickly, similar in spirit to discovering leads online, but we do not employ you and we do not guarantee that you will win work or earn any amount.
We do not know the customer beyond the form
What you see is what the customer submitted: description, location details they chose to share, availability, media, and other fields. We do not independently investigate customers, their property, urgency, ability to pay, or honesty. You are responsible for your own due diligence before quoting, scheduling, attending a site, or starting work.
Verification labels
Where we display that a phone number or email is “verified,” that typically means the customer completed a verification step for that contact method. It does not mean we have verified their identity, credit, criminal history, or that they will follow through. Customers may change their mind, postpone, or cancel; we cannot force them to hire you or to pay you.
Your bids and your business
Bids and messages you send are yours. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, licences, insurance, tax, and safety requirements for the work you offer. Any contract, price, schedule, warranty, or dispute resolution is between you and the customer unless you agree otherwise in writing with them. HMC is not a party to that relationship.
Information we may use and share
By registering or using the platform as a provider, you agree that we may collect, use, and share information you provide—including profile, skills, coverage areas, contact details, bids, and communications needed to operate the service—with customers, with our systems, and as required by law. Customers may save or copy information you send them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HMC and its operators are not liable for lost income, unpaid invoices, property damage, personal injury, disputes with customers, or reliance on request details. If liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Your continued use of provider features after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms for ongoing use, unless applicable law requires a different process.
